The Opportunity

Drug development is one of the last industries where AI transformation is just beginning — and the decisions being made right now by development executives will define how this industry operates for the next decade. The challenge is not the technology. It is helping leadership teams understand where AI creates real business advantage, build the internal case for change, and move from strategy to implementation without losing the scientific rigor that drug development demands.

This is that role. You will work, alongside our founders, directly with C-suite and senior R&D executives at large biotech and pharma companies to shape how they think about AI transformation across clinical development.

This is a strategic advisory role that creates commercial outcomes. You will be the thought leader upon whom a development executive relies when they are trying to figure out where AI creates real business advantage., You will know how to answer that question, quantify it, and help them build the internal case for change. The commercial relationship follows from that.

What You will Do
  • Build executive relationships at the C-suite and senior R&D level across biotech and large pharma, along side the found team, acting as a thought partner on AI transformation in drug development, not a vendor

  • Design and lead strategy sessions that help leadership teams map where AI creates the most leverage across regulatory submissions, clinical operations, and medical writing

  • Build the business cases and ROI frameworks that allow internal champions to move budget and get organizational buy-in

  • Support the commercial team in turning those conversations into new customers, account expansions and multi-year agreements.

  • Work closely with the founders to identify the highest-value market opportunities and help shape how Peer AI positions itself at the enterprise level

  • Bring market intelligence back to product and the CEO: what are C-suite executives actually trying to solve, what is blocking transformation, and where is the next category-level opportunity

About you
  • 5–8 years of experience, with meaningful time in the Life Sciences practice at a top-tier consulting firm (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Deloitte Life Sciences) or in a strategic role at pharma, a major CRO, or a life sciences technology company

  • You have been in the room with C-suite executives in drug development — a strategy engagement, an exec briefings, and critical commercial conversations. You know how they think and what they are accountable for

  • You have also led AI or digital transformation work and helped clients move AI from strategy to implementation

  • You understand the drug development enterprise at a detail level: how regulatory strategy connects to clinical planning, where submissions create organizational bottlenecks, what a development leader is accountable for and what keeps them up at night

  • You are analytically sharp — you can build a value model, quantify the cost of the status quo, and present it to a CFO

  • You are a builder and a closer. This is an early, high-ownership role. You will write the playbook, not inherit one

  • You don't wait for introductions. You know how to identify the right executive, get in the room, and earn a second conversation on the strength of the first

  • You thrive on ambiguity, move fast, and are energized by being at the frontier

  • Willing to travel regularly to meet customers where they are

  • What we offer
  • A seat at the table at the company defining how AI enters drug development

  • A position as an industry thought leader

  • Direct partnership with the CEO.  Your market intelligence shapes product and company strategy

  • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity

  • Flexible location, with strong preference for San Francisco Bay Area or Boston
