Account Executive - Emerging & Mid-Sized Biotechs

We are seeking a dynamic Account Executive to drive revenue growth within the emerging and mid-sized biotech segment. To be successful in this role you must be able to identify qualified prospects, demonstrate the effectiveness of Enterprise Generative AI, and manage complex sales cycles to acquire new business.

This role focuses on emerging to mid/small biotechs with a market cap less than 5B. You will be helping customers bring medicines to patients faster at a lower price point by accelerating regulatory submissions, managing costs effectively, and advancing AI adoption. You will be selling into fast-moving organizations that need to optimize their regulatory documentation processes to achieve critical milestones. We have established a lighthouse Top 20 customer with proven success and a handful of early customers on path to scaling.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Performance

  • Achieve annual quota of $1.0M+ in new ARR within emerging and mid-sized biotech accounts 

  • As a founding sales hire for mid-marklet, manage full sales cycle from prospecting through contract signature and handoff

  • Build and maintain pipeline of 4x quota coverage 

  • Conduct 20+ qualified discovery calls per month

  • Develop compelling business cases showing operational efficiency and cost optimization at scale

Strategic Account Development

  • Target biotech companies with active regulatory programs (pre-clinical through Phase III)

  • Develop relationships with Regulatory Affairs leaders, Operations heads, and C-suite executives

  • Assess prospects' pipelines to quantify expansion opportunities

  • Understand complex regulatory timelines and demonstrate how Peer AI accelerates critical paths

  • Position Peer Gen AI platform as a competitive advantage for resource-constrained organizations

  • Work cross-functionally to navigate startup/growth-stage decision-making

Market Intelligence

  • Track funding announcements, pipeline updates, and regulatory milestones within target accounts

  • Leverage industry conferences (DIA, RAPS, BIO) for relationship building and lead generation

  • Collaborate with marketing on biotech-specific content and case studies

  • Provide feedback on product roadmap priorities for emerging biotech workflows

Customer Success Partnership

  • Ensure smooth handoffs to implementation team

  • Maintain relationships during onboarding to identify expansion opportunities

  • Champion customer success stories and reference development

Must‑Have Qualifications

Experience 

  • 5+ years of enterprise B2B software sales experience, preferably in life sciences

  • 2+ years selling to biotech companies

  • Proven track record of exceeding quota in fast-paced, high-growth environments 

  • Experience and network with regulatory affairs or clinical operations stakeholders strongly preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of drug development lifecycle and regulatory submission processes

  • Ability to articulate complex technical solutions to both technical and business audiences

  • Consultative and team-based selling approach with strong discovery and qualification skills

  • Experience with CRM systems and sales engagement platforms

  • Comfortable with video-based selling and virtual relationship building

Nice‑to‑Have

Industry Knowledge

  • Familiarity with FDA submission requirements (IND, NDA, BLA processes)

  • Understanding of biotech funding landscape and growth trajectories

  • Knowledge of regulatory documentation workflows and pain points

  • Awareness of competitive landscape in regulatory technology solutions

Success Metrics (First 18 Months)

  • Achieve 100%+ of new ARR quota

  • Close 6-10 new logo deals annually 

  • Achieve 3-6 months average sales cycle

  • Maintain 20%+ quarterly pipeline growth

  • Achieve 85%+ customer satisfaction scores during handoff
